DETROIT -- An Oakland Township man was charged Thursday with making explosives, Local 4 reported.
Thomas Hollifield, 49, was arraigned in federal court in downtown Detroit after he allegedly caused a scare by bringing a pipe bomb to work on Tuesday.

He was taken into custody after a bomb squad unit found a pipe bomb at his workstation at Detronic Industries on Beattie Street near 15 Mile and Mound roads in Sterling Heights, Local 4 reported.
Police said Hollifield (pictured, left) showed a pipe bomb to a co-worker, who notified authorities. The building was evacuated while the bomb squad inspected the business.
A search of Hollifield's pickup truck turned up more explosives, the station reported.
"They then went outside and found approximately seven, 6-inch explosive devices in his vehicle," said Lt. Mike Reese, of the Sterling Heights Police Department.
Hollifield was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond on Thursday.
"He will be wearing a device around his ankle that discloses his whereabouts," said U.S. Attorney Steve Murphy.
Hollifield was fired from his job at Detronics after his arrest, Local 4 reported.
He's scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in federal court on June 7.

The guy LOOKS scary!
